Saturday 2nd December 2017

December and the temperature had risen overnight so fewer layers were required than on Wednesday’s ride. Only 5 at the roundabout! (Steve, Al, Ken, Keith H and me). But Keith had news to report – Pilot John had punctured in Maryburgh. Nobody else turned up so we went in search of John who told us he needed to go home and put on a new tyre. We escorted John to his roundabout where he reckoned there was a 50:50 chance of us meeting him later on.
Meanwhile, in the absence of Captain Rabbit, we appointed Steve as ride leader for the day and he led us an excellent route around the western half of the Black Isle. Findon Hill was followed by Mount Eagle and then the swoop down to Munlochy and along the Allangrange road past the brewery. Through the housing estates of North Kessock and along the firth to Redcastle and Muir of Ord. Here Al and Keith turned off – Al to head for home and the football while Keith needed extra miles. Bad Girls for Steve, Ken and me! No sign of John – doubtless still relaxing with his feet up and a coffee by the fire.
Ken and I visited Clifford in Glasgow yesterday where we had a good natter and enjoyed listening to the Old Master’s stories. We hope, Clifford, you will get back to your gym sessions next week!
Remember to come along to the Club spinning sessions – see you on Thursday evening 7pm Dingwall Leisure Centre.
